DEE HERTZBERG
Dee is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited coach with extensive experience coaching senior executives, emerging leaders, and teams within USAID, the US Forest Service, Peace Corps, and other international development organizations. Throughout her career, she has empowered leaders and teams to navigate complex environments, foster transformational leadership, have difficult conversations, resolve conflicts and manage nuanced team dynamics. Dee specializes in helping individuals to identify their core values and goals to advance their careers and successfully navigate career transitions. Her coaching assists clients to unleash their potential, broaden their perspectives, cultivate resilience, embrace ambiguity, and achieve a value-driven healthy work/life balance.
Professional Experience
Beyond coaching, Dee has provided organizational development, training, and capacity-building support in over 50 countries. Her expertise includes strategic planning, team building, leadership development, and institutional capacity-building. Since 2019, Dee has consulted with Training Resources Group (TRG), primarily focusing on USAID's Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI). She coached senior leaders and teams, designed and facilitated strategic planning sessions for 13 OTI country programs and served as IQC Director for OTI’s RFLCT and TFDS awards. Prior to TRG, Dee spent 16 years with the Peace Corps in senior leadership roles such as Country Director in Madagascar, Director of Programming and Training in Paraguay, and Associate Director for the Health & HIV/AIDS program in Ethiopia, and as Senior Advisor for Programming, Training, and Evaluation, and Chief of Operations for the Africa Region.
Education & Background
Dee holds a master’s degree in Sustainable International Development and a bachelor’s degree in Social Thought and Political Economy. She is an ICF Associate Certified Coach, a certified practitioner of the MBTI, and is fluent in French and Spanish. Dee is located in Falls Church, Virginia; and enjoys hiking, yoga, and playing with her cats.
